MUSIC: Grace Potter and the Nocturnals "This Is Somewhere"

Good to hear that Grace Potter and the Nocturnals have emerged from winter hibernation with an almost-finished CD, to be launched in July.

Find out more here.

Here's the Nocturnal News:

Welcome to March everyone! (That's mud-season here in VT). As spring approaches, we decided its time to unveil the most recent news from our world.

Our new album, “This Is Somewhere” is almost finished! We are beginning to piece together a whopper of a tour based around our scheduled July release. If we could, we would send you all a copy right now because we are so excited about the final product. However, we still need to piece together the artwork, tour schedule, and all the other vital things that go into putting out a record. The good news is we will be in constant touch by posting new videos, songs, and other special events including the official release of the new record..

Speaking of videos, we recently started posting new ones on our web page and myspace site. The first collection is Volume 1 and 2 of our hand-held studio experience as well as a fun live version of "Treat Me Right" and "Mystery Train" produced by FarmersTan.Com in Baltimore, MD. Check it out when you get a chance!

We are also pleased to announce two performances before we head down to the South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas. These performances will take place at The Space in Portland, ME on March 9th and The Stone Church in New Market, NH on March 11th . Please come join us if if you're in the area or up for a trek!

As always, we leave you with another round of juicy thoughts from each member of the band:

Scott: "I like cheese"

Grace: "Here's a little belated Valentines Day riddle: There are 4 members of a death metal band. Every member is in a heterosexual relationship. The death metal band goes out to dinner at Applebees a lot. When all the girlfriends are coupled with their boyfriends, there are 6 people total. How is this possible? p.s. this is a wicked hard riddle."

Bryan: "I've been refining my Vermont winter survival kit. So far it includes:
1. 1. All 5 seasons of Six Feet Under
2. 2. An ergonomic shovel
3. 3. A wide variety of Cabot cheddar
4. 4. Maple syrup...... hey, it's Vermont man!
5. 5. My sweet flannel-lined corduroy slippers
6. 6. Flannel sheets.... well, anything flannel really
7. 7. A salt lick."

Matt: "I've recently enjoyed making grandma-inspired casseroles with breaded toppings. When I'm really out to impress I add avocados, bacon, and a spot of bourbon. Mom always knows best."

That's it from us. Take care and keep in touch!
