E-LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Response to Gary Flomenhoft's Spring 2007 Letter to the Editor

Dear VT Commons,

I believe Mr. Flomenhoft's (Spring 2007 print issue) letter to the editor was completely ridiculous. His bashing of the south is clearly hate-filled (though it is of course free-speech and doesn't offend me) and his opinions about capitalism and federal funding shows he knows nothing about the fascist/communist Federal Reserve system(which actually offends me enough to write this letter).

His section on racism had nothing to do with racism except admitting that the Civil War was a fraud, but then spends a lot of time bashing southern states for war mongering and religious fundamentalism. Bashing a culture of people with smearing stereotypes in my opinion is called bigotry. I haven't met many people who have such contempt for the south and at the same time will admit to the fraud of the War for Southern Independence. When it comes to religious fundamentalism, I don't believe religion is a huge threat to our freedom. The forces that have controlled our country for a long time in my humble opinion are Fascist/Communist, and the Neo-cons are not religious but clearly follow the philosophy of Machiavelli.

His sections about free-market dogma and federal funding are completely short-sighted. His requirements of political stability, enforcement of property rights, and an unbiased judiciary for capitalism is correct, however these are also requirements for basically peace and justice in any society. His claim that capitalism doesn't provide public goods like clean air, clean water, public parks, and education I have a problem with. Our government has subsidized/funded land and zillions of fiat dollars to big businesses including big oil and international wars for oil. This subsidized land is given free to pollute on. In a capitalist society, land and waste management is costly and must be done right as to not impede upon the rights of people living in the area. In a fascist society, pollution is free thanks to the government's welfare for big business. This is how pollution has been created for Modern America and probably most other so-called developed countries of western civilization. It is not the fault of legit free-markets businesses that actually do waste-management; it is the fault of fascist/communist conjunctions of government, the Federal Reserve and their fascist/communist business friends.

The Federal Reserve prints infinite money based on thin air. This is not capitalism. I call it hyper-fascist/communism; you can call it what you want. The United States with the start of the income tax and the Federal Reserve in 1916 cannot nearly resemble anything like capitalism. This system is failing daily as they do not meet our supposed medical and education needs with infinite paper dollars that do nothing but destroy our economy with inflation. His claim about tax dollars and leeching states is completely un-educated. 2/3 of our tax dollars are lost by the IRS before congress even sees it. The money that is given to the states is from the Federal Reserve that has little connection to money pulled in by taxes, except for the fact that the IRS and the Fed are part of the same fascist fraud that steals and de-values our money. The taxes are infinitely small compared to the fiat dollars provided by the Federal Reserve. With these infinite dollars from our fascist/communist Federal Reserve do we have universal education, clean air, and clean water? No. We cannot rely on communism and fascism to provide us with services and clearly government is the largest facilitator of pollution in Modernity, not free enterprise.

His Texas bashing war section is ridiculous as well. Texas is a huge state and smearing its inhabitants with your war blames is very bigoted. Let us not forget that Texas is home to Alex Jones and Ron Paul (president 2008), two of the most popular libertarian anti-war anti-fascist/communist bringers of truth of today. Praying for war between Mexico and Texas is so immature, I can't believe someone with enough initiative and literacy to write a letter to the editor would say something so unproductive.

My friend, Gary Flomenhoft, please read up on fiat money systems or watch "Freedom to Fascism" by Aaron Russo, because you clearly cannot see the difference between Communist/Fascism and Libertarian/Capitalism.

Enjoy,
Ben Mayer
