GREEN MOUNTAIN TRUTH TALK: 9/11 and "Heightened Border Security"
Submitted by Greg Nixon on Sat, 01/26/2008 - 11:51am.
Yesterday’s Burlington Free Press ran two articles on the new heightened border security between Vermont and Canada. Once again, the myth of 9/11 was invoked as a pretext for trading in our freedom for “security”. Whatever doubts I harbour of 9/11’s relevance at plus Seven years after the attacks, they are quickly displaced when Fascism creeps at Vermont’s doorstep - under the guise of "terrorism". Did anyone see the NYTs article on presidential contender Giuliani where he was pushing for Border security while holding a financial stake in a firm providing the security? “On the presidential campaign trail, former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani often promotes the installation of electronic monitoring devices at the border to stem illegal immigration, without mentioning that until a few months ago, he was partner in a company trying to market such technology. Mr. Giuliani and his consulting company were part owners of SkyWatch L.L.C., a closely held start-up company that says it has developed a sensor capable of monitoring illegal border crossings. SkyWatch, in collaboration with Raytheon, a large military contractor, is now looking to market the technology to the federal government and elsewhere.” http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/18/us/politics/18fence.html?_r=1&em&ex=1200805200&en=0adbae44eba50365&ei=5087%0A&oref=slogin Can a more paradigmatic example of Fascism be any clearer? A criminal Government exists to steer the public money into their corporations. The phony war on terror is the pretext for this corporate welfare. As long as joe six pack America believes a fictional group Al Qaeda is coming to kill them, the cash will flow. A “Let me zee your papers” society in America? It can’t happen here! Oh it’s happening. Check out our new Homeland Security Universities: an article from Global Research: “From Harvard to UCLA, the ivory tower is fast becoming the latest watchtower in Fortress America. The terror warriors, having turned their attention to "violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism prevention"--as it was recently dubbed in a House of Representatives bill of the same name--have set out to reconquer that traditional hotbed of radicalization, the university. Building a homeland security campus and bringing the university to heel is a seven-step mission: http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=7900 Is 9/11 still relevant? Are people still dying in foreign “wars” allegedly to fight the terrorists “over there, so we don’t fight them here? Is Vermont’s business going to suffer from this proto police state? You betcha. Solution? Arrest the criminals around 9/11 and expose their lies which they have spun to enslave us. 9/11 will be relevant as long as the perps keep using it.

this is a perfect example of how much stronger is a point made WITHOUT including wild speculation about laser beams, controlled demolitions, no planes "theories" saying the passengers of flight 93 were killed in cleveland. Ultimately, what I'm suggesting is drop the conspiranoid stuff because there are plenty of actual examples confirmed by actual FACTS (not speculative hypotheses that don’t even rise to the level of “theories”) demonstrating how evil bush/cheney have been. Let's hold whatever beliefs we may want about 9/11 conspiracies, the divinity of christ, nudists at bohemian grove ruling the world, or whatever - just inform citizens about what is actually going on without resorting to logical fallacies and urban myths. As Churchill said "we are all entitled to our own opinions, we are not entitled to our own facts.” Calling for a new 9/11 investigation is great - it will uncover incompetence at practically every level of government - from Rudy to Bush - as well as expose the short commings of the last investigation. But looking for a smoking gun in a house that's engulfed in flames doesn't seem like a good strategy. Let’s get out of it first, and become forensic investigators later.
