Eliot Spitzer: What's up?

In the winter of 2003-04, the insurance conglomerate AIG and its then-head Maurice Greenberg were under investigation by Eliot Spitzer, as New York state Atty General, for a number of extraordinarily illegal activities in the running of AIG. Then a wheelbarrow of material proving massive insurance fraud between World Trade Center leaseholder Larry Silverstein to Maurice Greenberg and AIG was delivered by 9/11 activists to Spitzer's office---coincidentally located in a litle skyscraper in Manhattan with plaque affixed denoting "Silverstein Properties"---which included the following:

AIG became Larry Silverstein's single biggest insurer of the entire WTC complex in the summer of 2001 when the head of the NY/NJ Port Authority, Lewis Eisenberg, transferred the lease for the entirety of the complex to Silverstein, who already outright owned Bldg 7, which Silverstein had publicly complained was a white elephant with too many empty offices in a city with superfluously uneconomical office space (so he buys an entire complex of even larger white elephants, right?).

The transfer deal was finalized in July 2001 by Silverstein and Eisenberg, who soon thereafter became head of finance first to the Republican National Committee and thence to Bush-Cheney '04. Silverstein immediately asked AIG to essentially double his insurance on his brand new toy just in case any and all of it were to be suddenly and tragically destroyed. AIG perhaps not so amazingly immediately, as in August 2001, rubberstamped this request, just in time for Christmas, 9/11/01. Did they even send an inspector to check if the fire alarms worked? Could any lesser mortal get such an interesting rubberstamp on such a titanic financial request on any small bit of property any of us owned without a question being raised why we were requesting this huge uptick in coverage, let alone without an inspection of the property by an insurance rep? Answer to both rhetorical questions, Absolutely Not. The answer to the second question proves the first: The AIG team might have run into the teams wiring the buildings for demolition (or discovered it), which could have lead to an embarrassing scene that may have had to end in an otherwise unnecessary gangland massacre (we are talking corporate-governmental mafia here).

On a need-to-know basis, the AIG inspectors didn't. Like the rest of the compartmentalization of 9/11, entities often acted without knowledge of other entities' actions. Right out of the military intelligence handbook.

Why would AIG do this? Billions were lost when golly shucks dammit, a kerosene fire turned 47 steel columns to dust the very next month! Not once, twice! And then Bldg 7 too! What were the odds?! Seemed like an OK idea when Moe ridiculously indemnified his public stock company for his fellow stooge Larry.

Because Moe immediately began to charge immensely more profitable premiums on all the other skyscrapers around the world, which all the other insurance companies also began to charge. There are some very scary terrorists about, dontcha know! You just saw what happened, right? We only played it over every tv outlet on the planet about 10,000 times! Any minute and any one of them could emerge from their secret cave and bring down your skyscraper, too! If it could happen in security-conscious USA, no place on Earth is safe! Listen up, everybody: This is a War we're fighting, baby! So long as we can keep it going, ENDLESS war! That we're fighting it against everyone we can keep in permanent shake-down mode, whether miserable Muslims who sit on our oil, skyscraper owners or overworked taxpayers, is both the point and beside the point. We own the Pentagon and we own the legislators who fund it! And protect the commanders-in-chief from any unnecessary impeachment investigations that could POSSIBLY rock our ship of state. And just in case you don't like it, we'll just kill habeas corpus, pretend we searched your house, show a military tribunal a picture of Osama and a can of kerosene we say we found under your bed and that's it for you, my fellow citizens! So long as you pay up, stay stupid and keep your trap shut, the terrorists just may not emerge from their cavernous boardrooms and not getcha after all. Every time you think of the freedoms every American soldier in every war supposedly died to protect, just click your mind to Off, and accept our terror-driven war on you like the servile subjects you are.

This is the real betrayal of Eliot Spitzer. After he received all the information on the clear insurance fraud that was the demolition of Bldg 7, as if he didn't know everything he needed to know about Bldg 7 already, his response was to downgrade his inquiry on AIG and Moe Greenberg from a criminal to a civil complaint, issued him the penalty of a lovetap on the wrist, and let him walk, Case Closed.

Spitzer is on it, as is everyone in any position of authority, no matter what the party, who has any ability to negatively rock the ship of state status quo. Spitzer particularly emerged out of the stable of Robert Morgenthau, out of whose office also graduated Patrick Fitzgerald, who could not bring himself to indict the Vice-Dick over Valerie Plame despite that Bldg 7-sized wheelbarrow of evidence, and Rudolph Guiliani. who built the 24th floor bunker in the Silverstein Property also blown to dust around 5:30 pm on 9/11; who admitted he did not issue an evacuation of the firefighters in the Towers after he evacuated Bldg 7 on the inside word it---too---was going to go down; and who among many other treasonous crimes had installed the current head of "Homeland Security", Michael Chertoff, to the position within NYC government which allowed Chertoff to treat the The notorious Dancing Israelis, military attaches to Israeli consulates who videotaped and celebrated the fall of the Towers by dancing atop their white van, to their evacuation, back home, before they could come to any trial for suspicion of, ahem, terrorism.

The current question, seemingly relatively insignificant, is Why Spitzer copped a plea to high-priced whoring, which knowingly will as it must end his political career, when we know he could have easily covered up that which is insignificant relative to his coverup of the insurance fraud of Bldg 7. I mean, if he could successfully keep that under wraps, he should be able to kill in public, like any number of his fellow traitors he protects, and walk the halls of power with impunity, as a hero among them, forever. But something has happened to cause him to be removed from government, probably affording him all the silence he and they need him to have in order to be a very happy private citizen for the rest of his life, for that old standby sin, S-E-X, which everyone knows is absurdly unimportant but which is the only crime the establishment constantly trots out, as if worse than murder, to remove anyone in authority without any further public examination, which acts to keep the accepted seriousness of that "crime" in our ongoing experience: Were he to have been removed for something like complicity in protecting insurance fraud, there would have ben a whole lot of inquiring going on for a long time, at least around the water cooler. But the crime of the sin of sex has been kept by our authorities in our minds to be accepted by us without further thought, as such a high crime that it kills the career of the person being outed for it, as if it really were important when we know it really isn't. It leads down no truly darker alleys. We treat it as both death knell and cartoonesque, fodder for ridicule. Sptizer is being made a malfeasant we are still left thinking was a good guy who got caught at a victimless crime of understandable passion and who we are to be instructed must pay a big penalty, byebye public life.

Why, therefore, has it been decided he must be removed from office? Is there an inquiry of some sort going on tieing him to subject matter that could bring them down, too? Which as a private citizen guilty of s-e-x he would be virtually immune from any further media and legal inquiry on any other subject matter for which he was not being publicly removed? Is a blackmailer about, who will benefit from his downfall, who has the goods on him for another crime, possibly not even complicity in insurance fraud? If so, why would he not call in the hounds to crush that blackmailer? He's only protecting the Bush administration, Congress, the media, the Fed, their mafia, Israel, Britain, the Saudis, and on and on, they would Protect Him. No, there is a reason the wheels are moving for his necessary removal, agreed to by him, possibly even instigated by him, perhaps replete with public acts of gnashing of teeth and tearful goodbyes, and that reason guarantees the continuation of the protection of Them.

Thanks, Jim and Craig, for this most provocative "connect the dots" analysis -

The Spitzer imbroglio doesn't smell right to me - and your post provides one possible explanation for this ongoing series of events, under the radar.

Vive John Darc,

Rob
