LETTER (from Georgia):Standing Up For Independence
Submitted by Rob Williams on Tue, 04/15/2008 - 8:23am.
Dear Vermont Commons,
I live in Georgia right now, but I'm not really from anywhere, and I
have family living in Vermont. I've been there once or twice, and it
left a strong impression on me. I was too young to understand why, but
it just seemed very different, and I never even realized that there
were no billboards (for instance).
I've considered moving to your state. But more importantly, I think
it's very courageous what you Vermonters are doing. From the towns
standing up against President Bush, to the growing independence
movement, you seem grounded in strong moral principles and determined
to make a stand. I want to help spread awareness of the issues and
contribute to the discussion online.
Sincerely,
Jared Spurbeck
Summerville, Georgia
Editor's Reponse:
Thanks for your encouragement, Jared. Our only caveat with
your letter is this - we encourage you to move beyond "Bush-bashing" -
the U.S. Empire transcends one person, party, or platform. Barack won't
save us, nor will Billary, or Senator McCain. We feel the need - to
secede.
