With so many self-indulgent and relatively useless blog sites out
there, it is always refreshing to find a new and provocative one.

Such is the case with "Casaubon's Book,"created by writer, teacher and
subsistence farmer Sharon Astyk back in 2004 (around the time we founded
this multimedia newspaper.)

I spent some time reading Sharon's work this morning.

I find myself appreciating her wide range
of wisdom, frank talk, and humility.

I am now RSS'ed up, and I look
forward to reading more.

My favorite post? Sharon's critical dissection of James Howard Kunstler's new novel WORLD MADE BY HAND - "spot on," I think.
