Long-time readers of Vermont Commons know that many of us find Michael Ruppert's seminal book, Crossing the Rubicon: The Decline of the American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil, to be of utmost importance in terms of "dot connectng."

Here's his brief blogged "take" on unfolding events: McCain's Palin nomination (as I said to a neighbor last night at a BBQ - "I feel like we're being set up"), Hurricane Gustav (barreling toward the Gulf of Mexico and turning into a category FIVE storm), and the unfolding "election" season.
