Yes, it's true. This Washington DC resident won't be on Alaska Senator Ted Steven's jury in his corruption trial. Sigh? When they call you for jury duty, they warn you to be honest in responding to the twenty page questionnaire and I know jurors have been tossed in jail for withholding information that a judge later decided prejudiced the juror, so I decided baring my wicked associations and opinions was the safest course.  Surprise!  The prosecutors AND defense dropped me like a hot potatoe or is it potater? Anyway, let this be a test of whether honest secessionist jurors also will be hunted down by the FBI, an organization I dissed in my responses.  (Or maybe they'll just come after me for boasting - I mean blogging - about it!) I promise to report.

* What is your opinion of politicians? Too many of them are crooks.

* What is your opinion of prosecutors and law enforcement? They too often manufacture evidence and lie on the stand. (Did the two FBI agents on the prosecution team who doubtless read my answers think I was talking about the Massacre of the Branch Davidians by FBI tanks trying to destroy a building filled with forensic evidence of BATF murder of civilians??)

*What do you think of when you hear about the state Alaska?  Will Alaska secede first or will Vermont beat it to it? (In answer to a different, forgotten, question related to Alaska, I wrote: "I like to joke we should sell it to China to pay off the national debt." Of course, people would retain right to secede in their own communities and on own property.

*Is there anything that would prevent you from following the judges instructions? No, unless it involved some principle where JURY NULLIFICATION came into play.

*Do you think you could be impartial in this trial? I would be equally skeptical of BOTH sides.

*Anything else that might distract you? I have an old sick dog with an incontinence problem which is very worrisome. (And for readers in truth my biggest reason for hoping they would NOT pick me for the jury.)
